Libraries in Evanston

I got the news today that some stupid aldermen in my old hometown of Evanston voted to close down the north and south neighborhood branches of the public library. Ben Franklin’s rolling over in his grave. Plus, now I have to trash my plan to put in a job application there, despite their HR guy telling me two weeks ago that they’d be staying open, and hiring new people in March. Twenty new condo buildings that town did NOT need. Two useful libraries, one of which is 90 years old, this is something to mourn, for sure.

  1. Not good. I really do NOT like the way that city has changed in the 15 years since we left.
